Happy Halloween!

So, I am that person on the block who has no porch light on... sorry! We never really did that when I was growing up and now the dental hygienist in me just can't do it--I thought about it, but decided against it. I had my own adventures today to deal with.

Since Andrew is gone I have both the cars here in the driveway. I have to alternate between the 2 so that one doesn't sit for 4 months, so today I took "Andrew's" car to run some errands. Why would it not start when I went to leave the store?! There are few things I hate more than car problems! I had quite the experience of trying to get home. The car started eventually and puttered out of the parking lot and then up the road. I made it to the highschool before it shuddered and quit. I coasted off to the side. I thought to myself: self, you are so close! You can do this. So, I tried to start it and it started up! I pulled out onto the road, and it died again! Now I am sitting in a car that is not running sticking out in the road. I called my mom and told her to come and rescue me. I started to get the whole sweaty palms, stressed out nerves, etc. I said a quick prayer and turned the key again. I'll be darned if that car didn't putter the rest of the way up the road and coast down my street to die right in front of my house! Maybe the first time I shouldn't have turned to myself... lesson learned. As much as this sucks, especially since volvo's are a pain to get repaired, I cannot help but recognize the blessing of just getting home! And also the blessing of having another car that I can drive to work. I know that Heavenly Father knows my needs and he will always be there for me. (P.S. does anyone know a good repair shop that is close? The only places I know are in Portland.)

In an attempt to be in the "Halloween spirit" I agreed to check out the haunted house at the grange in Goble with Carrie. She somehow convinced me to dress up as a "pajama princess" with her.
What a nerd I am!

The haunted house was quite interesting... I am not a huge fan of the whole people dressed up as murderers and the like, but it was pretty good. The best part was that you end up in the basement where there are a bunch of little old ladies selling cookies and cupcakes for $.25 each and HOT cider. We played 2 rounds of bingo and she who never wins anything won the first 2 games played! That's right folks I was on a roll, for about 5 minutes. Overall, it was a blast and I think I may just take Carrie up on her offer and go to a belly dancing class with her next week... a little surprise for Andrew when he comes home!

My prize for 2 wins at BINGO (according to the lady who helped me "them there is some pampered chef spoons. Them is real nice. I think them go for $6. Real nice.")

I'm sorry about your car! Glad you got home okay, though.

I can't do haunted houses anymore, I have turned into such a wimp!

I have heard great things about those pc utensils :)

I happen to be a huge fan of BINGO! You should see my grandma she gets like ten cards and three markers and just goes crazy. It's a serious thing.

I must admit I am a little disappointed in your Trick or Treating blunder by not answering your door and turning out the lights! Come on!!
