Drum Roll Please...

Today was the day! Honestly, my stomach was doing flip-flops all morning... I kept thinking about baby and wondering what baby could be. I don't think it is a secret to anyone that I have had my heart set on having a little girl, but I also had this feeling that just because I wanted a girl I would be having a boy. Then there was those fears that what if something was wrong, etc. So, instead of focusing on that I played Wii, watched a movie, and did 5 loads of laundry. (I don't even know how we have that much between 3 people!) Looking back on today I would have to say that the hardest/worse part was having to have a full bladder. I have to admit that I cheated and went to the bathroom a few times before the appointment, but my bladder kept filling up so fast from all that water that it all worked out.

Melinda was our ultrasound tech today and she was very sweet. She had to take a million pictures of baby and we were there for an hour. All parts are present and accounted for and in the proper places as well. That is the most important part to me. This is my favorite picture that we got a copy of:

And now for the moment you have all been waiting for... I will let you find out the way I did (warning: the following picture does contain nudity :)

(Sorry for the graphic nature and baby's chosen position, he wouldn't give us any other angle!) And so you have it. Another little boy will be running around my house in no time at all. Laying in that room all thoughts of dresses and baby dolls, tea parties, hair ribbons, etc. were placed on the back burner and replaced with thoughts like "I should hang onto that box of clothes the boys just outgrew for this one..." and of course "now what name do we use?!" Andrew and I are made for each other in so many ways, but one thing we have always struggled with were discussions on baby names. He is very nostalgic and feels strongly that the name should be somehow related to family history and all that jazz, where I feel like that is perfect for middle names, but I like to be a bit more original with first names. Also, I have issues with naming a child's first name after a family member who is still living. It isn't bad, it is just confusing for me! I will reveal the name as soon as it is agreed upon, there is one pending Andrew just has to get used to it some more... lol. Anyways, on to the voting. All of my true friends voted for a girl, thanks ladies (jk!) and only 2 people had votes for a boy: Paige and Michelle. (You guys can still be my friends, apparently you know what is best for me!) I think I may just have to make a second prize and give one to you both :) Stay tuned for more on that. As for me, now I will be heading off to get ready for bed and dream of all things baby boy.

As I'm reading your blog the song is "Stupid Boy" is playing...Haha Maybe you should take it off your playlist for awhile:) Congrats on a healthy baby boy! They are so much fun. Your mom had 8 girls so you guys are going to have to make up the difference for awhile.

So Andrew and Spencer have something in common, they can only produce boys! Boys are great though I would never trade mine in ... well, maybe on occasion ;) Congrats! A healthy baby is always a relief.
