Baby Update:

Since everyone keeps asking me how I am doing, how much longer, and a host of other questions here is my update on Jonathan's progress. I thought for sure that last night was the night, but alas it wasn't. I had pretty hard steady contractions for a few hours although the closest together they ever got was 10 minutes apart. So of course I had to call my mom and get her advice, she told me to go lay down. Whatever, that made them stop:( On the one hand it was good to know that it wasn't real labor, but a small part of me cannot help but think that if I had done something more active instead of go lay down I could have convinced my body to go through with it! I've had a few more today, but nothing like last night.
I had an OB appointment this afternoon. A few things to note: 1) baby is estimated to be in the 8 pound range at this point (fatty), 2) he is head down (ultrasound confirmed--I only got to see his head/brain, cool but not too exciting) but in an awkward position that is not helping my progression, and 3) it is really difficult for my OB to check for dilation due to the fact that apparently I am tipped to far up and back. I am relieved to know that the baby is positioned somewhat correct, but my hopes were a little higher that I would be more dilated. Oh well. I did discuss with her my concerns that my insurance is only going to last through the end of the month. She said that she wants to see my next Thursday if I am still pregnant and then we will pick a day the next week to induce. I do have to wait until then though... at least at this point I can see that there really is an end in sight and I will get to hold this obnoxious wriggly little baby in my arms instead of letting him bruise up my insides like he has been. (I feel somewhat like Bella with her baby although I have no broken ribs!)
I will be sure to keep everyone posted on the progress, hopefully there will be plenty to report soon!
