2 Weeks

Jonathan is 2 weeks old today! I cannot believe that it has been 2 weeks already since he was born. He is such a natural part of our family that I almost don't remember what it was like without him:) The last few days have been a bit rocky since he has been cranky and hungry constantly. I feel like a milking cow, especially in the afternoon and evening where I am lucky if he will go 2+ hours without eating. Oh well, he is a growing boy and boy has he grown!
Today was his 2 week check up and he now weighs 9 lbs. 2.5 oz. a full pound over birth weight, and has grown 2 in. to 23 in. long. His head is now 38cm around. I thought he was getting bigger, but now I know he is! The pediatrician says that he is thriving and growing well. He recommends to continue feeding on demand especially at night, so I guess I don't get a break yet ;) I am feeling great as well. Last night I got on Wii Fit to check my weight, I am a little mad that I forgot to do it before I went to the hospital just so that it would tell me I had lost a ton of weight...lol. Anyways, I know what I weighed before I delivered and I have lost 30 lbs. since I delivered 2 weeks ago! That was the easiest 30lbs. I ever lost:) I am now 10 lbs. over my pre-pregnancy weight and I am looking forward to being able to work out again and get back in shape. My goal weight is between 20-30lbs. less than where I am right now, so I have my work cut out for me! I did get to wear non-maternity jeans today (although I am not too excited about what size they are!) and I realized that it has been about 6 mo. since I wore jeans that had a button and zipper instead of an elastic band. Here is to getting in shape and to Jonathan continuing to be a thriving happy baby.

Only 10 lbs away from pre-pregnancy weight?!?!? I'm still not even 10lbs away. I think with breastfeeding that will disappear in no time!

Sounds like mother and baby are BOTH doing awesome!

I thought he had grown when I held him - little stinker - You are so lucky to only have that few of lbs. to go. Take advantage of losing now - when you are old like me it does not come off so easily!

I'm glad you are both doing so well! Post another picture of him, and you too - little miss skinny who is already 10 lbs away from pre-pregnancy weight! It took me five months to get to that point.
