A sigh of relief...

So the jaundice battle is over!!!!!! Today was another trip in to the pediatrician to have bili levels checked and the levels are coming down! Also important he has gained 2 oz. since we saw the Dr on Sunday which was the same day we stopped supplementing with formula. The Dr says this is an excellent sign that he is getting what he needs from mother's milk and should be just fine with his nursing. He told us that we are in the clear and don't need to worry any more about the jaundice! I know jaundice is a pretty basic thing and not that uncommon for babies to have, but it was still stressful to deal with. Here is to continued nursing success!

That is a big sign of relief! Just having a newborn is stressful enough and then you add in other fun stuff like jaundice and nursing issues and it is frustrating. But you're doing great. Congrats on the nursing success!

Toshia, CONGRATULATIONS!! He is adorable!! I just want to kiss his little face. I am so happy that things are going well for you guys!! I can't believe you even have time to update your blog; you are AMAZING!! I thought the nursing was the most stressful part...it was really about trusting that they take what they need and your boobs can supply that!! So happy for you! Please post lots of pictures; wish I was there to meet him!! Miss you!
