Indian Pitchforks

Today was day 1 with my little sister, Autumn. She is such a hoot! I love talking to her because she always has such interesting theories and ideas about life. Here is a snippet of a conversation that I had with her this morning.

Autumn: I'm hungry.
Me: You're always hungry...you sound like someone else I know...
Autumn: You mean Adrian? Ya, I know. We are always hungry all the time.
Me: It's like you guys are twins!
Autumn: I know. Except for I'm not black.
Me: What!?
Autumn: You know. Adrian is part black and I'm not.
Me: No he isn't. What makes you say that?
Autumn: Uhh, then why is he so tan?
Me: Because he tans easily and he is part Native American.
Autumn: part what?
Me: Indians...like with teepees and stuff.
Autumn: Oooohhh. Does that mean he knows how to use an Indian pitchfork?
Me: A what?
Autumn: I don't know quite what it is called, but the Indians have these pitchforks they use that are long and pointy and go with an arrow...
Me: Do you mean the bow and arrow.
Autumn (as she rolls her eyes like I'm somehow retarded): Nooo. It is a big long stick and is pointy on the end. An Indian pitchfork.
Me: Do you mean a spear?
Autumn: Yes, that's it. Wouldn't it be awesome to know how to use one? I think so.

Yes people, this conversation really took place and similar ones will probably be happening for the rest of the week. I just love Autumn!
