Our Garden...

We decided to build a couple of garden boxes this year since we no longer have a dog that would destroy our plants. Andrew built the boxes in the spring and the fun began.
We planted carrots, green beans, tomatoes, spinach, bell peppers, banana peppers, and what I thought was broccoli (got the start from a friend, long story short it was gigantic and turned out to be red cabbage! I felt so stupid because I kept thinking "I never knew broccoli looked like this when it grows...")
Our most plentiful crop so far has definitely been green beans! We probably have enough in the freezer to last us until next summer now...
This monstrosity is supposedly only 4 tomato plants...note to self: don't plant so many tomatoes next year!
Of course, all gardeners know that you have to have some help along the way and mine comes in the form of a godzilla like baby who claims the dirt for his own!

I love how Jonathan is 100% boy and it just comes natural. I have to keep a close eye on him and give him lots of baths, but it is so much fun and totally worth it. This just reminds me of my little brother Noah. When he was a toddler he used to sneak out of the house to go dig in the dirt in the yard. You could always find him there covered in dirt having the time of his life. My only concern is next summer.....

So wonderful to see the fruits of your labors! I am jealous you had such a great outcome. Yeah, I did the tomatoes a few years ago and learned that less is more! My 3watermelons are the size of a baseball, so maybe in a month. Thanks for sharing the nice pictures.

That's awesome that you have so many yummy veggies that you grew yourself! When I have a house I totally plan on having a garden...my only problem is that thus far I can't keep anything alive...hmmmm.
