Canning Extravaganza!

I must have done drugs or something and decided it would be a good idea to can fruit this summer. I forgot how much work it is! I am still wondering if the savings on the cost of fruit was really worth the time it took...oh well, home canned fruit is soooo much better than store bought. (P.S. I was just kidding about doing drugs!) I had a lot of fun on Saturday afternoon working with my mom on pears. We canned my 36 lb. case and I got 14 quarts. Yesterday I canned 15 pounds of peaches and got 8 qts. and 1 pt. (bought the peaches at Fred Meyer for .79/lb. Oh ya!) Here are some fun pics from the canning: (Adrian and Luke were there too, but they were off playing outside and I didn't make it out there for pics...sorry boys!)

Jonathan loves to play with these baby dolls at Grandma's house...I swear he also loves to play with cars and blocks!
Grandpa had so much fun playing with Jonathan while we canned...thanks for the help dad!
We stayed for dinner and Jonathan had pasta with tomato sauce for the first time...
An antique Grandma brought home from CA, Jonathan liked it until he realized
he couldn't get out of it!
