This past Sunday marked the end of my time serving in Young Women's as the Mia Maid Advisor (Mia Maids are the girls age 13-14). I have been working in the Young Women's program for a couple of years now. I totally have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I LOVE the young women that I have had the privilege of working with. There are definitely special challenges every once in a while, but there were so many blessings that came from this calling. The biggest one was that I had a reason to make time to study the scriptures/gospel (other than that you should, of course!) that helped me to stay focused when I was overwhelmed by the day to day stuff around the house. I found that I could draw on my own experiences as a youth and try to help these girls to understand their worth and the love that their Father in Heaven has for them. I will truly miss them! But, the future holds promises of a busy Toshia still....I have been called as the Girl's Activity Days leader. This means that I will be working with the younger girls now (age 8-11) a couple times a month. It will be nice to have no Sunday duties and I will be in Relief Society for the first time in a long while, but this will probably end up being more work;) I am on the hunt for ideas and will be planning lots of fun for my little ladies. I also work on the Relief Society Activities committee with crafts and home management. I get to help plan super Saturday so watch out, there is going to be some crazy creative craftiness coming your way 1st ward peeps!
After church we went to my parent's house for dinner. Reagan is getting much too mobile and maneuvered herself under the ottoman and Jonathan was hamming it up classically!

I was Activity Days leader for about 6 months before we moved, and let me tell you, Young Women is my favorite calling ever, and I was surprised to find that Activity Days was just as good! I LOVED that calling! You will have so much fun with it because there is so much flexibility!! And you can be SO creative! I do have a cute idea (since you asked) and it's perfect for February. My daughter made it in Activity Days shortly before I got that calling. I will post it on my blog for you so you can see the pictures. Check it out. :)
I did put the post on my blog today. It's simple but cute, and the girls loved it. :)
