When we moved into our house we had a pretty fantastic yard. In fact, that was one of the reasons that we picked this house. Andrew and I had visions of children playing and backyard BBQs in our fabulous new digs.
Well, then Andrew was gone for our first summer here doing training in Texas and I managed to mow the lawn (on occasion). The following summer I was pregnant with Jonathan and we had a dog that ruled the yard. Then the next summer I had a very busy toddler and a seriously lazy attitude towards the yard. We built our garden boxes and had a functioning vegetable garden and we planted strawberries in the front as well as a few flowers. Then last summer I was pregnant and had Reagan. I did nothing more than plant some seeds in the veggie garden that never really grew. I pulled more muscles than weeds when I tried to work out there so a few fantastic young women and their mother came over and pulled weeds one afternoon for us. The yard looked better, but it still needed a lot of help.
This year I knew I had to do something serious. While Adrian was at school I spent a week working off and on in the yard. Then we spent a weekend working as a family in the yard. Adrian and Luke are working on developing their work ethic;) In the end our yard is looking pretty fantastic if I do say so myself. Our garden is growing in the back and I finally planted some decent flowers in the front yard. My favorite are the Gerber daisies. Okay, the favorite crop I have growing around here is really 4 super cute kids!
(These are actually the neighbor's weeds....their yard is pretty much a whole lot of this. Glad it's not my yard!)

Good for you!! I have the hardest time with yardwork. There is always something on my to-do list before yardwork. Beautiful flower & beautiful kids, too. :)
