This year we celebrated Father's Day a week early so that all the kids would be together to honor their daddy. It was a lot of fun planning it because Andrew had no idea we were going to do it! Andrew had clinicals from 7pm Saturday to 7am Sunday so we were able to clean up the living room and have it set up for him when he got home as a surprise. The kids had fun making cards for Andrew and then they got into it and hid around the living room like it was a surprise party. I think Andrew was surprised....even though it was hard to tell through his exhaustion:) We also had a mini-dad's day celebration on the actual day and that was fun, too.
As his main gift Andrew got the air mattress that he had been eyeing in the Costco coupon book. I was adamant with him that we didn't need it and that we would save for it in the future. Little did he know....The boys were a little confused about why Dad would want an air mattress for camping, I told them that they would understand when they are older;) This one has a built-in air pump and the kids wanted to see how it worked so Andrew took them in our room and they blew it up on top of our bed. All the kids climbed up there and had a lot of fun. I loved watching Andrew playing with them. He is such an amazing father and I am blessed to have him as my eternal companion and side-kick in this whole parenting gig.
Even though he was totally wiped out from being on shift all night he spent quite a while with the kids. We love you Andrew/Dad!
