28 already, what?!

This year I decided that all I really wanted for my birthday was a bike.  I seriously haven't ridden a bike since I was teenager so I was a little nervous about the adventure.  But, turns out they are right when they say "it's as easy as riding a bike."  Of course like a genius I thought it would be great fun to go for a nice long ride with Adrian and take him to his swim lessons this way.  Yeah, several lessons learned: I am not 12 anymore so I shouldn't expect to be able to ride my bike like I did back then, bike seats are way more uncomfortable than I remember, there are A LOT of hills between my house and the pool, and Adrian learned that riding your bike home in a wet swimsuit since you decided not to listen to your mom is not a good idea (and did I mention the hills?).
I am loving the new age of 28!  I have some pretty serious goals for myself in the next year.  The big one is to run a 10K in December.  I am in the thick of training for it now and I can honestly say that I still hate running.  I don't have a problem making myself go out anymore, but I still hate everything when I am doing it!  Shin splints are my arch enemy right now, but I am pushing through it.

(And now you know why I never post pictures of myself....what am I doing in these pics?????)

Andrew bought the bike and hid it in my friend's garage.  On my birthday he pretended to go for a run and really just ran around the corner to get the bike.  I didn't think anything of it.  The funny thing is that he got fully decked out for a run and didn't even break a sweat!  Thank you babe, I love you:)
