I found the funnest countdown calendar on a blog I was reading at the beginning of October. I just spent too much time trying to find it again and couldn't. Sorry that I can't link up to it, but just know I was not the brains behind this little operation of fun!
One day while Adrian was at school I pulled out the supplies and Jonathan helped me make a couple of awesome countdowns. I printed of the pages and then mounted them to black cardstock. I wanted to make them last so we laminated them before we hot glued on some hershey's kisses. We dressed it up with some ribbon that we threaded through some eyelets at the top. Jonathan was so excited that he got to pick out the eyelets. He chose orange for himself since that is his favorite color and then he decided that green was best for Adrian. Jonathan also got to put the kisses on after I put a spot of glue on each spot. The countdown was for 13 days and we happened to make it just in time to start it the next morning. Since the pages were pretty much the same I personalized them with a "J" and an "A" on the mummies. Now Jonathan knows that "J" means his name. It's really cute when he sees a "J" somewhere and then thinking that it says his name. This is only a problem when he starts to claim things as his simply because of the presence of the letter "J."

Any excuse for a little bit of chocolate!
