A while back Luke brought with him a kit for growing crystals. What a wise woman his bio-mom is for sending that fun to our house;) The boys had a blast being "mad scientists" and took their roles seriously (as you can see, I'm sure). Supplies were gathered from around the house and the local thrift store. In the end there were three containers of the solution and three anxious boy's for an overnight miracle of a fully grown crystal.
Instead there are three containers on my window sill. Each has a seriously depleted liquid amount due to evaporation and now they are starting grow mold--NOT crystals. I am thisclose to throwing every last thing that was associated with this project in the garbage. Well, except for the children of course!

Oh bummer. I hate those projects that are (well, messy and) really exciting with the prospect of being super cool and then they turn out a complete disappointment. BOO!
