The annual Weitzel family reunion was at the end of June this year. We had some big plans and things really came together! The first stop on the trip was the Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR. My only complaint is that it was drizzling the whole time so it was a little hard to see out the windows, but we made it work!
After we drove around the park loop we went to the village and got to see some of the smaller animals there. Jonathan got to feed some overzealous goats and there was an irritated llama to watch out for as well! I don't have copies of the pictures from others yet, but the kids really had fun and it was the perfect way to start off the reunion.
When we were driving through the loop we made a game of trying to find the characters from winnie the pooh. We found "tiger," "pooh," and "piglet." All I can say is that I am glad there were fences since my little ones failed to recognize that these were not all necessarily cute and cuddly animals. If given the chance I'm pretty sure those lions, tigers, and bears would be happy to have a little snack;) My favorite part was the cheetah rescue section. There was a path to "lovers lane" since cheetah's are very difficult to breed successfully that whole section is roped off to the public. I thought it was cool that they are working so hard to increase the cheetah population, Adrian was less than impressed and more than embarrassed that there would be such a sign displayed in public. Funny kid!

We went to a wildlife safari like that once when we lived in Israel, and it was really neat! Sounds like a fun thing!!
