Utah! (Part 8)...Temple Square

No trip to Utah would be complete without a stop at temple square in SLC. We've been there before so we already knew what we wanted to see and do.
At the beginning of the summer we went to the visitor center at the Portland temple. Jonathan and Reagan had been intimidated by the Christus statue. A missionary there explained to them that Christ is their friend and he encouraged them to feel his hands and feet.
When we came up the ramp to see the Christus in the visitor center in SLC Jonathan was so excited! He ran right over to it and proceeded to try and climb up it. I quickly told him he couldn't climb up there and not to touch. He turned around and told me "mom. I can touch him if I want to. He is my friend and that man told me I could touch him. He wants me to love him!" Although Jonathan was being sassy it did make me stop and think about the situation differently.
 

 

 

 

 

 

We went on a tour of the conference center. The boys were so excited that they got to walk down in front and see the workers putting the stand back together in order to get ready for General Conference in October.

 

 

 

Up on the rooftop it was really sunny. Jonathan insisted that he couldn't walk in the sun. Silly kid.

 

 

Reagan took advantage of being pushed around in the jogger Aunt Rachel let us borrow. Must be nice;)
