Since school starts next week it's only appropriate that I share a picture of Adrian on his last day of 7th grade...only a few months late! Last school year was definitely filled with its various challenges. Not the least of which was the attempt at getting a completely disorganized 7th grade boy to learn to be organized. I tend to be a rather organized person (shocking, I know) and learning how to parent the disorganized has been one of my challenges in life. I think I am getting better at it, but maybe he is getting better about it from his end? By the last half of the last quarter things really started to click for him so I am hoping that he will pick up where he left off and only get better this year?! Overall his grades were good: mostly B's, but a few A's and some C's. The hard thing to overcome was the procrastination...not that he is the only one in our family who ever procrastinates things. We all do it. Adrian really enjoyed his creative writing class and some of the experiments from science. I think aside from the fact that he strongly disliked most of his Language Arts class and was completely embarrassed by parts of his health class (typical), he really did much better than ever before. Fingers crossed that 8th grade is a year of not only academic learning, but learning and applying life skills to prepare him for High School next year. Gulp. Did I just say high school next year?!

Oh, good for him! Yeah, I know what you mean... high school. That is crazy talk. And my oldest is a junior this year. WHATEVER!
