There's this little girl I know who happens to be the cutest little girl in the whole world (I'm only slightly biased...) and she turned 3 years old in July! I am having the hardest time accepting that she is already 3. I'm pretty sure that I haven't had kids long enough for them to be as old as they are--mainly because that would make me old and I don't feel any older than I was the day I had them.
Reagan had a rough time accepting that she was getting a little brother instead of a little sister. When we would talk about her birthday she would say that what she wanted was a lalaloopsy mermaid doll and girl legos. The doll seemed to be her most desired gift so we decided to have it be the gift from her brothers...all 4 of them. When she found out that the baby helped get her a present and then saw what it was she was beyond in love. She even said "I love my little brother now because he buys me things that I really, really want!" I felt a teensy bit guilty that I had equated love with buying things, but she no longer says she hates the baby and no longer threatens to run away so we just have to pick our battles around here. Some days I think she thinks she is a teenager already with her little sassy attitude.
Her birthday fell on a Sunday and she woke up so excited because she thought that being 3 meant that she automatically got to go to the Sunbeam class in Primary at church. She was a little bummed when she found out that she doesn't switch classes until the end of the year, but she handled it okay. She adores her nursery teachers and loves going to class so it hasn't been hard to convince her to keep going. In some ways she pretty much runs that nursery with her personality and the fact that the other kids are all younger or at least less verbal.

After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little birthday party with family. She was adequately spoiled as usual and loved her presents. My mom found an old doll carriage that is just like the one my mom played with as a little girl for her--the only difference is the color. Reagan loves it and likes to go for walks with her dolls outside.
Aunt Ashleigh and Aunt Chelsea have a healthy competition going to see who can get the "better" gift for little miss and therefore be the "favorite" aunt. I quite enjoy it because it means that she has aunts who love her and really want her to be happy. Ashleigh got her a "tangled" doll with a dress she can wear too. Reagan believes that she is just like Rapunzel and has flat out refused to allow us to ever cut her hair since that would make her lose her magic.
Aunt Chelsea got her another lalaloopsy doll: Ember Flicker Flame. Reagan loves it! In fact she loves both of her dolls so much and the end result was that both of her aunts were her favorites.
Reagan had wanted a mermaid cake for her birthday, but I had no idea how to do that without spending a chunk of change on it. In the end I got what I thought was cupcakes in the shape of a butterfly...tuned out to be a few cupcakes and a butterfly shaped cake. Oh well, it was a good cake either way!
Reagan is such a sweet heart and I love her so much! I can't believe how lucky I am to be her mom. In September we had her annual well-child exam and she is continuing to grow and thrive. She was 37" tall and 35 lbs. She is on track to be 5'4" (like her mommy) and is so excited to finally be tall enough to go to the playland at Ikea (loves Ikea...like her mommy!)

So sweet!!! What a fun birthday!! (I am the Nursery leader, so I totally get the older/less verbal thing. It can be hard.) Love the cake, and I love IKEA, too. (TOtally miss it!!) Also, I know what you mean about having a teenager... my oldest was born a teenager. I'm just nodding. :) Happy birthday, Reagan!
