I know it is a day early, but I have to do a bit of a brag session about my wonderful husband.
Valentine's day 2006: It was a clinic day in Hygiene school, which meant high stress and scrubs. Andrew and I had talked about going on a date that night, but I wasn't sure what he wanted to do. When I got out of school I called Andrew to see what time we were getting together that night. He was all, "aren't you coming over right now?" I told him I wanted to go home and shower and change first, he didn't seem to happy about that response. After he worked all his powers of persuasion he convinced me to skip the trip home and come right over. When I got to his apartment he answered the door dressed as Napolean Dynamite! He had the "vote for pedro" shirt on, some straight leg jeans, and moon-boots. If I had not already fallen for him I think I would have been scared off by that! He was not "hot" in that get-up but he was adorable. The reason that he wanted me to come right over was because he was making us dinner, the first "home cooked" meal he had ever made for someone other than his children. I felt honored, and for his level of "cooking skills" he did quite well. The best part was that in order to "win" me he "built" me a cake. And not just any cake, but a layer cake :) The cutest thing was he didn't know you had to let the layers completely cool before you put it all together with the frosting so it was a bit melty in the middle, but still delicious! As a gift he got me the usual valentine's stuff, a box of chocolates, a stuffed animal, and my very own "vote for pedro" t-shirt. The best part of the whole thing was just the planning and effort that he put into it. All my friends told me he only did all that to "seal the deal!" I guess you could say he did since here we are married!
Valentine's Day 2007: Last February I went to Cancun, MX for a dental conference. Andrew was pretty lonely, but had all kinds of time to get himself into trouble! I was the ward activity Chairman and so I had to help with the Stake Valentine's dance that was the weekend after I got home. The friday night before we went up to the Stake center to set up, I should have suspected something from the beginning, but I honestly had no clue. Earlier in the day Andrew had called and asked for my friend Amy's phone number, I asked him why he needed it and he said, "no reason, I just thought I should have it in case you are ever out with her..." lame excuse. On the way over to the Stake center my friend Lindsey called me to ask if we wanted to hang out with them and some friends that were visiting from Utah. Andrew acted like he was too tired to do that, but then he "reluctantly" agreed. They said to meet them at the Sweet Briar hotel by PDX. While I was setting up the bishop's wife asked if he could head over and meet her husband to help with balloons or something. So he left. Well, he was gone for a long time. Then the bishop showed up without him. I called him to see where the heck he was and he said that he had waited for the bishop who had never showed up, then on the way back had witnessed a really bad car accident and was just leaving the scene. (Elaborate story, but still I had no clue!) Then we went to the hotel. I looked in the parking lot and didn't see my friends car, so I though we beat them. I didn't want to just knock on their friend's door without them being their, so I made Andrew wait in the lobby with me for a while. Then I decided to call my friends, they said they were already there and to come on up. So then we went up there, we knocked on the door and nothing. We knocked again and nothing, at this point Andrew pulls a card out of his pocket and says, "maybe this will work" I was so stupid that I said "what are you doing, you can't just use any old card on a door" and then it opened the door. I stood there with my mouth open confused as anything, then I followed him in, like the dork I am I asked "where is everyone, she said they were up here" Not really noticing the 3 dozen roses spread around the room. Then the light turned on in my head! Let's just say that was a really fun night, the details of which I will just re-live in my mind and not here ;) I have to say that the only downside of this whole event was the fact that my husband and friends could lie so convincingly and I followed along without a clue! (This picture is us the next day, I spent the day sewing a poodle skirt for our 50's themed Valentine's dance, which was a blast!)

Valentine's day 2008: I don't know if Andrew has anything up his sleeve yet. I told him that having him home from Kuwait is enough for me, but a little chocolate won't hurt! Besides, yesterday I got the best Valentine's day present possible: the letter came from the 1st presidency so now Andrew and I can be sealed in the temple! It has been almost a year since we started the whole process in our old ward so I was begining to think it would never happen, but it has. Party at the Stott's!
I hope that each of you have the best Valentine's day and get to spend some quality time with your sweethearts! Happy Valentine's day!

What fun stories! Im interested in how this year will turn out!
Happy Day!
The Napolean Dynamite story cracks me up...but you know he is a keeper if he attempts to make you a meal without any cooking skills. I am excited for your day at the temple...what a wonderful moment that will be! Congrats :)
