Travel Log: Day 8

Saturday, July 5, 2008: Day at Sea
This was a day of relaxing on the ship and heading back to Florida. We had our final get together as a group and Dee spoke to us one last time. He recapped what he talked about the other days and added in the role of the Savior and the atonement in our relationships with others. It was really good, I was just so tired I barely remember that day!

You can hardly see him in this picture, but Andrew is standing at the railing almost directly in the middle of the picture. This was me standing in the lobby on deck 2 and him up in the buffet on deck 9. He wanted a picture of this to remember the size of the ship.

The view from Deck 10. So long Caribbean, it's been fun!

So, this is Andrew and I. If you are wondering why he is dressed like this I will tell you. Andrew gets really into karaoke and so I humored him and almost every night before bed we went to the Firebird lounge for karaoke. Andrew's best song has got to be Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin. He also likes Dean Martin and Johnny Cash. Well, the cruise ship has a "contest" of sorts for the final nights show where they use passengers on the ship as performers. They pre-select the songs and the passengers try out. They had people for Madonna, Eric Clapton, Gloria Estefan, Brittney Spears, Garth Brooks, and some others I cannot think of. Andrew "won" and got to be Frank Sinatra! The best part of the whole thing is that Andrew really can't stand Sinatra, but he wanted to try out for something just for the fun of it. After he won he gave me the deer in the headlights look of "what have I just done?" He practiced all week and did really well, but I can honestly say if I never have to hear the song "My Way" again I will be just fine!

Belize is an amazing place, I want to do a kayaking tour there. I am insanely jealous of your long beautiful trip!
