Travel Log: Day 9

Sunday, July 6, 2008: Coming Home!
This day started out super early and at the last minute Andrew and I had to get of the ship and leave without our whole group because for some odd reason the travel agency had booked our flight for 11am and if we left with our group we would have missed the flight out of Tampa. Our flight from Tampa to Houston wasn't too bad, except I felt kind of cheated...they only gave us a drink once and no snack. What a scam.

Andrew being a tourist with the George Bush statue in the Houston Airport.

We had a 4 hour layover at the airport and the chairs just didn't look at all comfortable. I asked Andrew if we could track down the USO and see what it was like since I had never been to a USO before. I am so glad that we did because they had large overstuffed leather furniture and free snacks and drinks all over the place! It was so nice, I got a nice little nap in too. Then we were off to board our flight home. On this flight there were about 6 babies that I could see, some better than others :) I didn't mind the fussing, I was just glad that the baby we were traveling with was silent even if he was kicking me like a ninja the whole way!

Me exhausted waiting at the Portland Airport for my parents to pick us up.

Gross I know, but I think Jonathan needs to know what he has put me through this summer. These cankles were especially bad. Thank you Andrew for massaging my feet most nights, I love you!

And, a special thank you to my parents for rides to the airport, saved us a ton of money on parking. Also, thank you to Seth for house sitting. Even though there was the slight "hiccup" things look great around here and Reese seems happy. (P.S. due to the "hiccup" we now have a portion of our carpet torn away from the kitchen floor that Reese mangled up the padding. We were planning on switching out to laminate wood floors this summer anyways, lucky dog!)

It's been so much fun reading about your cruise! It looks and sounds like you had a great time:) I feel for you about the cankles...I went to Hawaii at the end of my pregnancy with Bronson and my feet have never looked more disgusting! You could push on them and leave a permanent dent.

Good luck on the trek with those cankles:) !!!
