Why are there so many cars on HWY 30 today? And why in the world did it take me over 2 hours to get home today? Ahhh! I was getting so mad and I really had to go to the bathroom so that made it so much worse for me.
To start from the beginning, today was actually a good day. I had an OB appt where I found out that I do not have gestational diabetes! Yeah me :) I also found out that baby is a little bigger than average :( I should be measuring at 30cm and I am closer to 32cm... I sure hope this either means I will deliver early or it is just my uterus that is larger! I can honestly say that delivery doesn't scare me, but delivering a 9+ pound baby does scare the living daylights out of me. I honestly don't think my body is designed for that :) Oh well, it will be what it will be.
After my OB appt I was able to go over and hang out with a friend who lives in Portland. We hadn't hung out in forever and so we had a lot to catch up on! Thanks for the fun conversation and company today Amy! I miss living down the street from you guys, okay so I don't miss the ghetto and the methadone clinic, but I miss you guys! Porter is flipping huge! Before I left, our friend Lindsey stopped by with baby Cassia and we got to catch up a bit too. She will be moving back to Utah before I have my baby--sad! I am excited for her husband to finish school and for them to be able to move home, but they will be missed. I know I stayed a little longer than I should have, but I couldn't help it. Then I left for home. This is where the trouble began.
First of all, why does ever street in Portland need to have some form of construction going on at the same time? Every street I had to turn onto was slowed down for "road work" and then when I got on I-84 the traffic was barely moving. I did pass 2 cars that had apparently been in an accident and then it picked back up, for about a mile. Then the brake lights began again. I literally could have walked over the Fremont bridge faster than I drove over it today. I have no idea what the hold up was, but I-405 was at fault. And then came HWY 30. I think the only time on that whole stretch that I was going over 15 mph (avg about 2mph) was between Scappoose and about a mile before the ford dealership just outside of town. At this point I turned off the HWY and took the back roads. The only thing I heard on the radio was something about a fire causing traffic on HWY 30, but I had seen nothing of that. When I finally got to my mom's house to pick up Adrian over 2 hours from the time I left Portland she told me that there is a Jack Johnson concert in Columbia City tonight and that is why there is so much traffic. Ugh! I was ready to pee my pants and these people just wanted to go to a concert?! Whatever :) Hopefully it never takes that long to make the drive again...

Good luck with the big baby thing. I had two big babies. Cam was 9lbs7oz and Sam was 9lbs even.
Sorry my family were some of those people on the way to the concert. I'll give them a good talking to about it.
I used to half joke that I was going to keep Depends in my car at the ends of my pregnancy. Glad you made it home! Brian was stuck in the concert traffic, too.
I'm sorry you got stuck in the traffic, but it was an awesome concert!!
Glad you made it home in time! Don't worry too much about big babies, Grayson was my biggest at 10 pounds, but he was by far the easiest delivery. I really think it's more about their position.
Sorry the traffic got you! But it was AWESOME!!!!
Yeah for NO gestational diabetes! I know that must have been weiging on your mind! Speaking of 'weight'...this little babe will be exactly the size he is meant to be. Don't worry too much :) (haha...easy for ME to say, huh?)
Thanks for coming to visit - it was fun!! Let me know the next time you go to your OB appointment and have some time to hang out. Sorry that you had such bad traffic going home - especially since you had to pee!
