So long, farewell

Today was a much anticipated day--my last day of work for a long time. I had been working at two dental offices, my last day at the one in downtown Portland was last Tuesday and my last day at the one by the airport was today. I decided that I didn't want to go back to work full-time after the baby is born, so I will not be returning to the Parkrose office. There are a lot of reasons why I was excited about this, but at the same time it was sad to say goodbye to my friends that I have worked so close with for the last 2 years. I will miss them and some of my patients, but I will not miss getting up and ready for work! I will be going back to work part-time at the downtown office in February, but until then I am officially a "stay-at-home" mom :) When I was a crazy independent minded teenager the thought of staying home, having babies and raising children seemed like a death-sentence. I was determined that I was always going to work and not stay at home. I am so glad that I have matured and that I am married to someone who is supportive of my decision and willing to carry the weight of providing for our growing family.
Now what am I going to do for the next 28 days?! Any suggestions for inducing labor send them my way cause I am ready to be done and have this baby already:) I am going to the OB tomorrow and will hopefully get a better idea for how much longer I really have to wait. I know you may think I am impatient, but I am tired of not being able to be very far away from a bathroom and I want to be reminded what my feet, ankles, and calves looked like prior to being pregnant and swollen!
Yippee!! My husband just put in the last piece of the floor!!!!!! Now I can spend tomorrow putting things away and cleaning up the construction zone, then I will take some good pictures.

yeah for last days of work and getting your floors finished. As far as inducing labor...I've always heard sex, lots of sex:) Just what you want to do at 37 weeks of pregnancy, right?

My suggestion: pamper yourself!! haha go get pedicure, go window shopping, watch your favorite movies, treat yourself to coldstone.... I had 2 whole months off at the end of my pregnancy and i was so bored until i just started doinf things these things. I realized that it might be a while before I got to do them again after the baby came (which i was right) so i was glad i took that time for me!

also, i have to say, i totally enjoyed working 2 days a week after sophia was 3 months old. it have me a little break which after the 2 days i was like "ok, i am so ready to take care of my sophia again!" it almost made me a better mommy! and i was like you, the thought of statying hoe was like a death sentence when i was younger. ok, it hink this comment is way too long! haha
enjoy these 28 days!

I suggest that you sleep and chill as much as humanly possible because you won't be able to do that for a few months. But it's almost here - can't wait to meet Jonathan! Now that the floor is done when's the party?

Welcome to the world of stay at home moms, it is an absolutley wonderful place. I'll just say savor these next 28 days because this baby may just turn your life upside down. And yet, I know you can hardly wait to hold that little guy and love him up.

I am glad you are over your "death-sentence" thinking - I hope you did not get that from me - I hate working outside the home - just remember to love and hug that little guy all the time - Ask me about my weird dream I had - It will crack you up!

I think working part-time the first year of Ben's life was an amazing gift because I learned what a blessing it is to be a full-time stay-at-home mommy. I don't take it for granted.
I can't believe you are so close! As for suggestion to induce labor...I have NONE. MY babies are always OVER due!!
Love ya :)
