Welcome to what is considered "full-term!" I had my 37 week appointment today and I am feeling like the time is getting ever so close to holding this little one in my arms...if only he will cooperate! I have evened out with my measurements so I am at 37cm and the last few times I was in I had only gained a few ounces...that is until this week I gained 3 pounds in one week! I just keep telling myself this is not permanent weight gain and don't look at those numbers on the scale too closely:) My favorite finding of the day is that I have started to dilate, not much, but I am at 1cm. Every little bit counts! My OB leaves tomorrow for Hawaii for a week and I had to promise her that I would not go into labor until she gets back. I agreed to wait (like I could control it anyways) and meanwhile I will just work on getting things going so as soon as she gets back next week I can go into labor ;) The only thing holding things up is the baby himself. He won't stay in position long enough to help my body out. Today he is shifted diagonally for whatever reason. My OB is a little concerned that he is not staying head down, but she says everything should be fine and he is just bored and cramped in there. The only sadness from the day is I was positive for Strep-B so I get the joy of penicillin added to my labor and delivery experience.
Only 20 more days until due date, but maybe less until baby is born!

It is much better to know about the strep B. Jubilee was born pretesting and had it. Much more traumatic than a little penicillin during delivery
Wooo!!! You are getting so close! Hang in there -- a baby doesn't have to be engaged for your water to break. I never did dilate more than a "fingertip" with kids until I was in full on labor. Good luck!
I had Strep B with my first one as well. It's not too bad. I would ask your dr. or someone after wards if you are planning on nursing, sometimes for some reason that makes it slightly more difficult. But do not take my word for it, it may not be the case with you at all. Just something to ask in case things aren't going as smoothly as they could.
Woohoo, the end is in sight! I was group B strep too, which I found to be way sucky. They had to give me the penicillin every four hours and whenever they did it made me sick and light headed! Make sure that they do it on a slow drip - that seemed to help me.
YAY! You are so close, it's so exciting! Are you nervous at all, you sound so ready! I'm excited for you!
These last few weeks can feel like an eternity when you are expecting that first little one. I wish you patience, my dear. Something I am NEVER good at!
Can't wait to meet JC! (I'm big on nicknames...hope you don't mind :)
It's been so fun to watch your ticker, and now you are almost to the single digits! Go you!!!! I'm very excited for you and your family :)
What a wonderful, surreal moment in time. Enjoy every minute of it. That penecillin is a bugger, make sure they dilute it ALOT cause you will swear that your arm is going to burn off if they don't. Even still, enjoy this marvelously miraculous process of gettin' this little boy into your arms and family forever.
