I am so excited for Christmas this year! I usually am, but this year I am more so. I think it is because it will be so different from last year. I didn't even put up a tree last year since I celebrated on my own and didn't feel like going through the effort:( This year is so opposite from that! Andrew is home, not in Kuwait, we have custody of Adrian, it is our year to have Luke for Christmas, and baby Jonathan will be celebrating his first Christmas! Our house is full and my cup runneth over. The only thing I am sad about is that I will be missing the Christmas morning celebration with my siblings and parents. I guess that is part of growing up. We will be doing Christmas morning here with our little family and then head over to my parents' house for brunch, more gifts, sharing of love, and making new memories.
On Sunday we went to the Christmas party at the Air National Guard base in Portland. It was nice. The best part was the free Christmas trees they were giving to all the Airmen and their families. Score! This saves us from trekking in the "woods" with a newborn in search of the perfect tree. It has been since 2004 that I got a real Christmas tree--I missed the smell, I love it! Unfortunately Santa did not make an appearance at the party and Adrian was pretty upset about it. I never realized how much he still believes and how important it was to him until we got in the car and he started crying about how he was not going to get to see Santa this year and it will be the worst Christmas ever...blah, blah, blah. He can be so dramatic! I guess this means I have to go in search of a Santa for him to see. I really hope I can accomplish this without going to a mall...that is the worst place to go this time of year;)
Last night for FHE we decorated our tree. I think it looks pretty good, a little sparsely decorated but we are still in the process of gathering all the millions of ornaments one can get over the course of their lives and I decided not to place random ball ornaments on the tree thinking these would pose to great a temptation for a certain 70+ pound dog. Soon I will be done putting the nativities up around the house and the stockings will be hung by the chimney with care and soon St. Nicholas will be here!

Rumor has it that Santa will be making an appearance at our wards Christmas breakfast on the 20th, although with the number of kids in our ward the line might not be any better than at the mall.
We did the same last night and it was funny to be doing with only six of the kids - we too have to adjust to the change in family status:( Looks like you are following a lot of the same traditions thought with your sweet family:)
