OMSI

We have been tossing around the idea of getting a family membership at either OMSI or the Zoo for a while now and when I found out on Dec. 30 that they were having a special on family memberships at OMSI where we could get a years membership for 2 adults and 4 kids for only $70 (sale ended Dec. 31) we decided to jump on it. If we only go twice it pays for itself so we figured we should go for it. On Sat. Jan 3 we took the boys and 2 of their friends to OMSI, it was the last weekend of their "Mindbender Mansion" exhibit. I personally thought it was a little lame, but the kids thought it was great. There were puzzles all over that you had to solve to get clues to unlock the passwords for 4 different "rooms" in the mansion. Our kids lost interest after about 15 minutes of solving puzzles and some of them were stinkin hard. So, solution: I wandered around and "borrowed" answers from people who had already solved the puzzles. It worked out great except for this one group of girls that spotted me and then dramatically covered their papers like I was cheating off of their papers for some really important exam! Whatever, the sad thing is they were like 12 years old and I was some lame 25 year old "borrowing" their answers:) I wouldn't have cared to get the answers, but at the end of the exhibit there was a place to input the codes and then you could get your picture taken for the "wall of fame." I thought that it would be nice to have pictures (turns out they were lame pictures printed on white copy paper--kind of ghetto!) Here are my 3 little men:

I have to say that my favorite part of the day was that we didn't have to see and do every little thing since we can go back as much as we want this year. My least favorite part was trying to find places to nurse the baby in that retarded kid zoo! I did find a few benches here and there, but it was so uncomfortable and I felt like a dork sitting all by myself people watching. Overall it was a really nice day and I cannot wait to go to the DaVinci exhibit that opens on Jan. 31.

What a smokin' deal! Would have loved to gotten in on that one but would still like to go sometime. Let me know if you ever want some company :)
