I love a good deal!

This past weekend I decided to go to the coast with my family with the boys (Andrew had to stay home for work) and boy am I glad I did! (I will post pictures tomorrow...) I am always on the hunt for a good deal and this weekend I stumbled upon the best shopping spree of my life thus far. When my mom and I were walking towards the Tanger outlets in Lincoln City we saw women walking away from Old Navy with stuffed bags full of clothes--3 or 4 bags apiece! My mom pointed it out and said there must be a sale or something. So we walked over to Old Navy and boy was there ever. Everything in the store was 50% off already marked down prices. I didn't expect to find much (seeing as these sales usually involve hideous clothes it's no surprise they couldn't sell or sizes 0-2 or 22, nothing for us "average" ladies) but I struck gold! Not only did I find several $2 shirts for myself and a couple pairs of $7 pants, but I found some shirts for Andrew and Adrian and (drum roll please...) basically a complete wardrobe for Jonathan until he is 2 years old! I know that it is a bit crazy, but there was no way I could pass up $1-3 for every item of clothing. Some of my favorite deals: Jonathan's coat for next winter was $42, I paid $7.50! A cute jacket for Hayden's birthday was $50.50, I paid $7.50! A pair of shorts for Jonathan was $9.99, I paid $.47!!! If I had been close to a computer I would have emailed everyone to get their butts out there and shop. All the stores were having huge clearance sales and although I ended up spending more than I originally planned on for this shopping trip I just couldn't pass up the deals. My dad was making fun of me because I sat and added up the tags for all the clothes I bought to figure out how much I actually saved. (This took a while since in the end I had 3 huge bags stuffed with clothes!) For Old Navy alone I spent about $200 and the regular ticketed price for what I bought actually totaled: $944.50!! All I know is I was sitting there with over $1000 worth of clothes in my living room and I spent less than 20% of that total between 4 stores (Old Navy, Aeropostale, Pacsun, and GAP). I am still thinking the savings were unreal and unlike anything I have seen before. My mom commented that she felt like we were stealing from them because of how little we were spending. One of the employees told us they were trying to move their inventory quick after a slow holiday shopping season to make room for spring/summer inventory. All I know is we went back first thing this morning and it looked like they were cleaning up after a tornado blew through the store from the mess all of us crazy shoppers left in our wake. Maybe they will do this every January? I am loving this!!!

Lincoln city is my FAVORITE outlet mall!! And right now, the end of January is the time to buy. You get way better deals now then the day after Christmas. Glad you got so many great deals.

What's funny is that I had received an email last week about that sale at Old Navy but there really weren't any clothes we needed and I was trying to not spend money if I didn't need to so I held back and didn't go. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea...
