Cannon Beach Field Trip

Last Thursday Adrian's class had a field trip to Cannon beach. It turned out that Andrew had the day off and I had no plans so we decided to make a family trip out of it. I am so glad that we did! It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun--despite the lame directions:) Just because Andrew said to me "I can't wait to hear you complain about this on your blog" I have to include it: we were given the "itinerary" for the day and it said to meet up at the parking lot at the South end of town just as you are leaving Cannon Beach. If we don't see them there then to walk over to Haystack rock and meet them there. We got there at 9:30 and waited a little bit with no bus in sight. Finally at about 9:50 we decided to walk to the rock. I am not kidding you it was at least a mile down the beach from where we were. When we got there the teacher said that they had parked at the South end of town and pointed North. I tell ya--what are they teaching in schools these days?! I was a little irritated, but I decided to just complain about it a little to anyone who would listen (mainly Andrew) and now here, because he practically dared me to! Anyways, it was a gorgeous day starting off a little cloudy and then the clouds cleared briefly just in time for a pretty windy afternoon. Here are a "few" pics. I would have taken more, but had accidentally left the camera in the van and was not about to walk the mile back to the car to get it so these were all from later that day. Hope you enjoy!
Awww, such cute brothers!
I love this one! This is his "I can't stand how fun this is!" look.
Poor kid, every time he opened his hands the sand would disappear. He was getting so frustrated!
Now he was really digging in.

My little monkey! He loved the beach!

This kid just wanted to be a sand monster of sorts. Scary huh?

All Andrew really wanted to do was sleep. He propped up a log to shield himself from the wind and napped.

Adrian then decided that he wanted to bury himself in the sand. However, he didn't want to actually take the time to dig a deep enough hole...lol!

"Daddy, wake up! It is time to play with this awesome sand!"
After we played in the sand for a bit I took the boys down to the water's edge. I was helping Jonathan "jump" the "waves" right at the edge. The water wasn't too cold and he loved splashing in it. The biggest bath tub ever:) Adrian wanted to go out farther and farther. I had to keep a close eye on that one--he had so much fun and was sad to leave. I am so ready for summer! Bring on the fun times!!!

The teacher got north and south mixed up? Seriously?
Love the cute pics of ALL your boys in the sand. Looks like a great family day :)
