My Half-Marathon, Full-Man!

I am so proud of Andrew. He found out about a half-marathon that would be on the 4th of July from my mom who was training for it and he decided he was going to do it, too. He ran a half when he was in Kuwait a few years ago and he was determined to do it again.
He did it and he did it in style...biffed it practically right out of the gate, but he got back up again and forged ahead going strong despite the embarrassing beginning! Andrew finished beating his goal of 1:50:00and I am so proud of him!!
His time: 1:41:54
This translates into a 7:46 mile.
For his age group he finished 34 out of 120.
Overall he finished 216 out of 1826.
Out of the men he finished 169 out of 664.
WAY TO GO ANDREW!!!!
(All I have to say is that I would have died before the end of the first mile... I have a few friends that have had babies since me that are going to train for it next year that have invited me to do it with them. I told them I would as long as I am not pregnant then...lol! I can't decide which would be worse running in July or being pregnant in July?!)
Mr. Tough Guy's battle wound...it bled the whole time because he wouldn't stop to have it cleaned up.
Check out that medal! (I know...I told him the sweat band makes him look like a geezer, but he insists that he needs it so he can see...)
My mom and my brother Chad after finishing the half marathon together. Check it out: my mom turns 49 this year, has given birth to eleven babies and it was my 15 year old brother who couldn't keep up! (Sorry mom, hope you don't mind I just spilled the beans on your age!)
They finished in 2:08:04!!! You can see all their stats here on her blog.
I knew several other people running yesterday and everyone finished under their goal times. Amazing runs everyone!

Way to go to your mom! And to Andrew, of course! LOVED the sweat band, ha ha. And I would rather be running in July then pregnant in July...guess I messed that up this year though :)
