Oquirrh Mountain Temple/Salt Lake City

On Monday, July 13 we drove down to South Jordan to visit some of our friends who had finished up school and moved back to Utah last fall. Lindsey and Shaun--we had so much fun! We thought we would see if there was any way we could go through the Oquirrh Mountain temple's open house and we were able to get in. It was a little awkward since we were not wearing "church" clothes, but at least we weren't the only ones;) The boys had a really neat experience there with us and it was nice to be in the temple as a family. It has me even more anxious to see the day that the older boys will be sealed to Andrew and I. Sorry, no pictures of that day...forgot the camera at Rachel's! Of course we were sad to go, but there was so much to do and so little time. That night we "camped" at the SLC KAO--not recommended...I knew it would be ghetto style since we were within city limits, but it was bad. At least the bathrooms were decent and we were only there one night. We pretended that the busy street on the other side of the fence was a "river" and roasted marshmallows on our camp stove...at least the boys had a good sense of humor about it!
On Tuesday we met up with Rachel and her 3 boys at Temple square. It had been years since Andrew or I had been there and there has been many changes, but it was all wonderful. We were able to see the Joseph Smith movie also and it was amazing. I am so glad that we were not only able to go on this trip as a family, but to also feel the Spirit as a family:)

Outside the SLC temple...so sweet!
Rachel and her boys: Skyler, Kevin, and Caleb

I think this picture is my favorite from the whole trip! These cousins were inseparable:) It makes me happy that they got along so well, but sad that we are so far apart...when are we getting them all together again?

I love road trips! We're going to Utah in a few weeks too and we'll probably also see Shaun & Lindsey :) That's awesome that all the boys were able to go. We need to do another BBQ sometime, now that I'm not so sick :)
