Lazy Blogger...

I apologize to any and all who have checked the blog lately only to find that I still haven't updated it! I have been so busy getting ready for the baby to be born and dying in this heat that I haven't really sat down long enough at the computer to type anything. And now of course I can't remember most of what has happened! I have also been horrible and not really taken any pictures lately so, sorry, no pics in this post.
The end of the school year went well. Report cards came and everyone passed...Andrew passed his spring term classes with awesome grades and Adrian did really well too, his downfall comes in the form of the "listens attentively," "follows directions," and "completes work on time" categories. As his mom I could have told you these are his struggles! Next year Adrian will be in the 5th grade so we are working this summer on maintaining what he learned in 4th grade and trying to improve time management! Just before summer term started Andrew found out that he got accepted into the Paramedic program at PCC! We are so proud of him and super excited that he got in on his first try (like there was ever a doubt...). He has a few more pre-reqs to finish up this summer and fall terms and then the program starts in January 2011 with graduation in December 2011. There is a light at the end of the tunnel! We will pretty much never see him, but that won't be too different from the schedule we have had the last year anyways.
Adrian got to spend his first two weeks of summer visiting his bio-mom who has returned to Portland for the summer to have her baby. He had a lot of fun, but was relieved to come back home. This past week we started our "summer school" regimen and it has had some ups and downs, but will be worth it in the end (fingers crossed). We spend a couple hours each day reviewing different subjects and sometimes learning new things that apparently didn't make the cut in public school! Funny story: we were doing science the other day and the unit was on animals. Adrian was working on learning what the terms are for the male, female, and baby of different animals. When he got to seals and learned that the female is called a cow he got a really confused look on his face. Then he asked me why they would call a seal a cow. I told him I didn't know. Then his expression changed and he said "Oh, I know. It must be because they have milk duds!" I looked at him funny and asked him what he was talking about. His reply had me laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. He said "Milk duds, you know (now whispering) nipples." Still cracks me up! When I told Andrew about it and commented that it was funny he would associate candy with anatomy I was reminded that he is a boy....enough said.
Our 4th of July was pretty quiet. On the 3rd we went to my parents and watched my dad set off his fireworks. Jonathan made it until about 10pm or so and then he slept in my arms...how I don't know, but he did! Jonathan and I spent a lot of the time Adrian was gone hanging out at my mom's so the kids would play with him and I could rest. We have gone over there a few times this week too. I love living so close to my family!
We picked up Luke yesterday and he will be here for the next week; Adrian and Luke have cub scout day camp next week. They both have big plans that I am sure involve some form of fire. Hopefully they make it through the week incident free!
I am now just over 37 weeks pregnant and having mixed emotions about having this baby. I am super excited and want to have my little girl in my arms and here in our family....but, I am starting to remember all the details I had forgotten about childbirth. Let's just say I am not super excited about that! I have been having braxton hicks contractions for months now, but the last week or so they are coming more often and a lot more intense. I had an OB appt Wednesday and I am not dilated at all yet, but getting close. Yesterday when I was at my mom's relaxing in this cursed heat apparently my brother Noah took it upon himself to time my contractions. He informed me that I had two 17 min. apart. After that I think he lost interest because 20 minutes is a long time to wait in between! He has been asking me a lot of questions about childbirth lately, I think it is cute how concerned he is about my "surviving" the pain of it all.
Well, that not so quickly sums up our last month or so. Andrew took the boys to the air museum today so I will try and post pictures of that later and of course as soon as Reagan is here you will get plenty of that too! Enjoy your summer:)

It was nice to catch up with you guys, Toshia! It sounds like a good summer so far.... except the HOT part. :( I love the name Reagan, too!! I hope things go well for you the next 3 or so weeks! Can't wait to see baby pictures. :) I had to laugh what you said about the report card--I always want to laugh when teachers talk to me about "he doesn't listen" or "he doesn't follow through" or whatever. As if living with him for 13 years wouldn't have been enough for me to pick up on that. LOL Anyway... hope things continue to go well for you... and that the heat breaks soon!

So good to hear about things happening for you guys! I am equally thrilled about Andrew's acceptance to Paramedic program. YOur story about Adrian is so funny. I am also excited and nervous about a new baby around here, but I am 13 years out of practice! We will keep you in our prayers as you could be going any time! I wish we lived closer!

Glad to hear from you again, I was beginning to wonder :) Busy summer so far, but as usual you are being wonder-mom and wonder-wife and handling everything beautifully! I can't believe you will be having this cute little girl in just a few short weeks. Can't wait to see her!
