It's official. I am now the mother of a 2 year old...have mercy on me! Yesterday was Jonathan's birthday and it was busy from beginning to end. We decided to take him to see Toy Story 3 in 3-D at the local theatre since he LOVES toy story. This movie is a little more involved than the other two so he lost interest in the middle for a little bit and was terrified of the monkey with the cymbals (if you have seen it then you know what I mean...it is pretty freaky, but the clown toy scares me more!) After the movie we made a quick ice cream stop...Adrian had saved to buy Jonathan a treat at Dari Delish for his birthday (too sweet!). Then it was home to "open" his present: a Toy Story tricycle that he refused to get off of! I hope there are some good weather days ahead so we can play outside:) Then we got everyone in their costumes and headed over to the church for the annual "trunk-or-treat" which was a blast! We all dressed up: Andrew was Darth Sidius, I was a blue M&M, Adrian was Darth Maul, Luke was Luke Skywalker (I spent a whole Saturday sewing the robes...he totally left his lightsaber at home though!), Jonathan was Woody (I made the vest...the only thing missing was boots, which I totally thought he wouldn't want since he will only wear one pair of shoes; however, when I was putting his costume on him [more like wrestling him to the ground to get it on him!] he totally started asking where his boots were...bad mama!), and Reagan was an elephant. After Jonathan's check up this week I will post his 2 year old stats and blab on all about him. Happy Halloween!
(He did pretty good, but wouldn't say anything to anyone! He just seemed in awe of the fact that all these people were freely putting more candy in his bag than he has ever held at one time:)
Now, go run off and highjack some of your kids' candy (you know we all do it!) and have a spooky night!
(I have been asked by some so I will fess up and admit that I am a "mean" mom and did not let my kids trick or treat tonight since it is Sunday. I think they will survive as they eat their way through the haul they came home with last night! Also, can I just vent about two things: 1) if the porchlight is off that means no candy right? So what was with the group of kids who wouldn't get off my porch and the parents on the sidewalk giving me the stink eye? 2) Why do some parents (usually trashy moms) think that if they put on some skimpy costume that they are (a) cute and (b) entitled to a piece of candy as well? Get off my porch, put on some clothes, and buy yourself a candy bar if you want one! Lol...Happy Trick or Treating!)

Light off means no candy, yes. I have also put a sign on the door that says out of candy. That worked pretty well.
Love your "vent." Yes, I totally agree. We actually went down in our basement and turned off all the lights upstairs. We never hear ANYTHING down there, but we did hear some banging on the door. Hello, every light in the house (that you can see from outside) is off!
But I love everybody's costumes and the birthday report. Looks like tons of fun and I'm SO impressed by the costumes you made. Wow!
