Every 6 months our church holds conference. Over the course of a weekend we get to watch four 2-hour sessions from our home (love the internet!) and spend time listening to the living prophets share their messages with us. It can be a challenge to get my kids to listen and pay attention/learn anything, but it is totally worth it. I kept with our usual conference Sunday tradition and baked cinnamon rolls. I may have gotten a recipe online for cinnabon cinnamon rolls and I may have made them and they may have been delicious and a measley 500 calories apiece...didn't say they were healthy! (This was pre-diet fanfare, no sweets for me anymore!)
I found and adapted a gameboard that I made for the boys. They each had a grid where each space was filled with a word. As the talks were given if they heard that word/subject they could eat an m&m off of it. The boards were refilled for each talk. I was amazed that it worked! The best part was when Luke leaned over and whispered to me (mind you, this was about 5 minutes before the whole thing was over!) "did you make us these so that we would listen to the talks?" Never said my kids were the quickest out there:) I really enjoyed all the talks that I was able to hear and the counsel that was given. I hoped to be able to link up my favs, but the transcripts aren't available online yet and I am too tired/lazy to find links to all the videos so instead you can go here to find the whole conference website if you are interested. I wish that I had been able to take notes so I could share more, but with 4 kids and a hubby gone both days for military stuff I was lucky to even watch all 4 sessions! Waiting for my copy of the Ensign to come in the mail so I can read the talks again and be reminded of the fabulous things taught about family, parenting, marriage, and a bunch of other really great stuff.

Cute pictures! Okay, I LOVE the idea of the gameboards that are cleared after every talk. I am totally going to do that. That is an awesome idea. Yeah, I am anxiously awaiting the Ensign, too. There were some really wonderful talks given. Wow. It seems like I'm blown away EACH time.
