Jonathan at the temporary "penguin" exhibit which is actually the polar bear exhibit. I know...makes absolutely no sense that the penguins and polar bears are somehow co-habitating to me either! You'll just have to go see for yourself!
In "Africa" there is a little room where the kids can run around a bit and go in a tunnel and stand under a clear dome and watch birds and other weird rodent like animals run around. Jonathan was not cooperating for his pictures and this was the best I could get!
Every time I tried to take a picture of Jonathan he would turn away and say "no pictures momma!" What am I the paparazzi?
Reagan however, was just fine hamming it up for the camera!
A few weeks ago I went with a friend of mine, Candi, and her sweet son, Ryder, to the Oregon Zoo. I love going to the zoo! I can't wait for warmer weather so we don't have to be so bundled, but it really wasn't so bad. Jonathan wanted to be a big boy and not ride in the stroller so we put the babies in the double stroller and he walked (most of the time....towards the end he wasn't really keeping up!) The funniest part was that Jonathan still thinks he is Diego and so the whole trip was about finding baby jaguar to take home with us. He thinks the ocelot is baby jaguar and he was ticked that we couldn't take it home with us. Whenever Jonathan started to get a little behind we would just say "Go, Diego, Go!" and he would pick up his little feet and start running forward yelling about some adventure/exploring/finding/whatever that he needed to do. It made life easier to know how to get him to keep up! Reagan spent the time in the stroller and still wasn't really aware of the fantastic time we were having, but she was there.
I was a little lazy and decided to skip the "Northwest" animals section and found out the next day that the bear and the bobcat both have babies. Boo. I guess this means another zoo trip is coming up in the very near future!

How fun. I think every one of my kids went through a "no pictures" phase. I think the ocelot is pretty darn close to a baby jaguar!! That's so cute.
