Grub Crawl

Last month I got to participate in one of the funnest team builders ever! I am lucky enough to work with quite a large group of people at a dental practice in downtown Portland. This year we did a "Grub Crawl" scavenger hunt. It was sooooo much fun! We had 9 envelopes with clues in them that we had to figure out in order to know what restaurant in downtown we had to walk to and then there was something on the slip that said what we had to take a picture of and then send it to the referees for confirmation that we were in the right place. Luckily we were allowed to have a smart phone for help. The best clue for me was our second one:
Portlandia's safe word for "hold off and stop."
Something kept telling me that this was a reference to the parody show Portlandia, but I was stuck on what it meant. We started to follow the doc on our team to the Portlandia statue when it hit me: Cacao! I even said it out loud and got some pretty funny looks from people:) We googled it and sure enough there was a Cacao chocolate shop close to where we were at. In the end I was on the winning team (Of course!) and we got some fabulous gift cards for our prizes. Mine were for DSW shoes and Subway. I had so much fun and I hope someday I can do something like this again!
Go Team Purse:)
