Playin' Hookie

A couple weeks before school got out we decided to let Adrian play hookie from school for the first time all year. We made a day of it and took the kids to the Oregon Zoo. My little sister, Taylor, skipped school and came with us. It was so much fun! Andrew had the day off so he was able to come, too.
We saw lots of animals, ate a delicious elephant ear (bigger than Jonny's head....which is big) and Jonathan learned that he is scared of dinosaurs.
The coolest part of the whole thing was when we went into the lorikeet landing. They sell nectar for $1, but I am too cheap to buy it. This time a woman asked Adrian if he wanted hers since she was leaving and hadn't had any success. Adrian is one of much patience (on occasion) and it paid off this time. He had not one, but two different lorikeets land on his hand and eat from the nectar cup. Of course the battery on my camera was dead at this point. I do have cruddy cell phone pictures, but they are on my phone still.....maybe someday I will get around to posting them:)

Cute pictures. What a fun time. You're so cool to let him play hookie from school. (P.S. LOVE the lorikeets at the PDX zoo!)
