Happy Halloween!

An almost all Star Wars family.  For Halloween the original plan was that Adrian would be Obi Wan Kenobi, Luke would be Luke Skywalker (he has a Yoda backpack that he was planning to use), Jonathan would be Han Solo, and Reagan would be Princess Leia.
Unfortunately somebody kept changing his mind and at the last minute announced that the perfect costume would be that scary white faced thing from "Scream."  I informed this little someone that that costume was not an option.  In the end he settled on his skeleton hoodie that zips over his face and then wore a couple of different black "robes" over it.  He said he was a "creepy skeleton." Okay Luke, whatever works!
As Obi Wan, Adrian wore some stuff that Andrew had and I made the sash to go around his waist by simply tying a piece of fabric around his waist.  Lazy seamstress!  I also had to hem up the cloak.  Adrian wanted so badly to wear this long clip-on braid in his hair so that he would look just like the young Obi Wan.  I felt so bad for him.  He has been blessed with his father's hair.  That clip was never going to stay.  In the end he kept taking off his glasses to be more authentic as well (this of course led to one pair of glasses being run over and smashed/destroyed, a very unhappy momma, and two weeks of trying to be successful in school as a legally blind 6th grader....long story!)
Jonathan desperately wanted to be Han and actually really believes that he is Han.  I made the vest, belt, and attempted a holster.  The "blaster" goes to a robot toy he already had.  The pants are his blue church pants with red felt tacked down the side.  Nice.  (Please no criticizing the "authenticity" of the Han costume.  I realize the stripes on the pants are wrong.  If you know why then you are one of the world's biggest Star Wars nerds and you should just shut it.  He's 3.)
Reagan's costume is my favorite.  My mom helped me to alter a dress pattern and then pretty much sewed the whole thing, too!  I had a vision in my mind based of off the original costume that I saw pinned and knew I had to make for her.  I was only willing to buy the pattern for the hat so this isn't the "official" dress pattern.  Get over it.  I shouldn't have even bought the hat pattern because if I had really thought about it I would have been able to figure it out on my own.  Anyways, if you want to know how to make one for yourself then just ask me how and I will impart some knowledge;)
Andrew was of course a storm trooper--pictures in the next Halloween post.

By the way, I am almost caught up with blogging through October.  December is officially here in just 3 short days.  I doubt I will get the rest of this done before then!

I love your use of "shut it" and "get over it," only because I know you live with serious Star Wars fans. None of that would have ever crossed my mind. I think they're the coolest costumes ever, and I'm seriously dying at Reagan's. THAT IS AWESOME. Great job!!!
