The 2nd Dayt of 2012

Wii Showdown!
This month we had our dayt and it was a night in.  My original intentions involved having the kids spend the night at Grandma's house, but in the end that didn't work out.  We ended up starting our dayt after the little ones went to bed and told Adrian that he was to play in his room/read until bed time.  It's all good--Moms and Dads need their Wife and Husband time!
We decided to spring for a new Wii game.  It took us some time, but we eventually agreed on Super Mario Party 8 for our night of competition.  It was a little bit too easy for us, but it has turned into one of the funnest games to play as a family.  Embarrassing as it is to admit, Jonathan actually has gotten quite good at this game.  He loves Mario.

Cute side-note: the kids have been playing their own version of this game all weekend.  They took colored paper and made a "game board" out of our house.  They made candy pieces, DK spaces, Bowser spaces, etc. and then the 3 boys each took a die with them.  Luke kept official score on a sheet of paper.  It was hilarious to watch and listen to them play.  But, I loved it!  They were so creative and spent hours planning it out and playing it.

tell me about these "dayt" night ideas you have. Is this something you plan out for the year and give as a Christmas gift? Mark and I have tried to do something other than dinner/movie on dates, but in a small town it's not easy. See ya soon!
