Project Bucket List: Angry Bird Pizza Party/FHE

When Jonathan spotted a pepperoni pizza that looked like the red angry bird he wigged out.  He wanted to have an angry bird pizza party so bad!  When I first introduced the idea of a bucket list he yelled out "angry bird pizza party--we need to have an angry bird pizza party!"  When I found the outline for an FHE based around the angry birds I knew what must be done.  As a mom of young children with toddler anger management issues I was all over it.  I would share the picture of the original example, but it is so much better than mine that I'm not gonna.

It was a gorgeous day and a little too hot to eat in a kitchen heated up by an oven so we moved the table outside and had dinner on the patio.

After our fabulous lesson I had very high hopes that our kids (especially Jonathan) would be more aware of their anger and their behavior.  For the most part, things have gone really well.  We decided that the mud closet bench would serve as the bird's nest and time out is bed.  The best is being out in public and having to remind my kids that they are behaving like a "bomb bird" or a "red bird" or whatever.  I have gotten a couple of odd looks from people, but when I explain it they all seem to get it.
After pizza and the lesson we moved inside for a game of angry birds on the kitchen floor.

Ice cream made the perfect desert, but the messy cones ended up making everyone feel a little "over" the whole game.  I would recommend this lesson for everyone and anyone.  It was so much fun!!!
