Did anyone else realize that it is no longer summer besides me? What happened?! What is all this "first day of fall" business I see going on out there? Oh well, I suppose all good things must come to an end. The beginning of school marked the end of our "Project Summer Bucket List" which I would have to deem as a huge success! It was a pretty ambitious list to start off with, but I never actually thought that we would complete everything on it:) The things that didn't make the cut may just end up on next years list...who knows? Here are the things that we did not get around to doing for one reason or another:
- Prescott Beach (But, we did throw in a week at Lincoln City in August so I think that cancels this one out...)
- Fishing (let's face it. I was never going to do this one. It was only happening if there was some sort of miraculous intervention by some loving grandparent/father;) I have no desire to eat any fish that we might catch and they creep me out anyways. Sorry, but it's true. And you can save your "fish lover" comments since I don't really care what I am missing taste-wise or health benefit wise. Love you though!)
- Camping (for some reason we never went camping as a family this summer. Life got crazy and the hard part was getting Andrew's schedule to line up with mine and it just didn't work out. We can still camp in the fall though. Who am I kidding? It's way to cold at night now.)
- Ice Rocks (the idea of shoving small toys in balloons, filling them with water, and then tying those stupid knots just never seemed appealing. I still think it sounds like a fun idea to do with the kids though.)
- Dutch Oven Cooking (I think I am going to count Adrian and Andrew going on Trek and cooking in a dutch oven every night for this one.)
- Concert at the Park (this was the first summer we never went down to the park on Thursday nights. I am going to blame the fact that Adrian had mutual at the same time as all of the concerts.)
- Bug Hunt (I can't believe I forgot about this one!)
- Finger Knitting (technically this one could be checked off. I had the yarn and directions with us in the car on our road trip and it was a colossal fail. I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of the tangled mess I concocted. Any tips?)
- PVC Sprinkler (a trip to the hardware store with my kids to pick out pvc pipes, time to let the adhesive cure, and the subsequent headache that I was sure would follow just never seemed worth it.)
- Bubble Pool (hey, their bathtub gets bubbly when I wash them...that counts, right?)
- Lego Day (really though, pretty much every day is a lego day in house.)
- Camping Party (I had big pinterest plans...but, they stayed in my head to be used another time.)
- Longview Splash Park (just never got around to it. Not sorry.)
- Key Lime Cheesecake Bars (still sound completely yummy. I think I just gained back 5 lbs thinking about them...drool.)
Considering how much we had on our list at the start of the summer I feel like we were pretty successful! I would give us an A-. I can talk my way into an A almost without fail;)

I would totally give you an A! You did a ton of stuff and it was all really cool. You are seriously amazing.
I did the same thing--saved a lot of my "good intentions" for next year. I mean, we did some fun stuff, and they are just fun ideas that can continue next year!
And I am a big-time fish HATER, so you don't have to worry one little sec about getting any flak from me! :) Fishing is BORING, and I hate eating/smelling fish, so... There ya go. :)
Nice job on the bucket list! Seriously. Totally amazing.
