A couple of weeks ago I got together with a couple of my friends, Heidi, Arisa and my mom, with our little kids and had a fun afternoon of lunch and making Halloween bark at Arisa's house. Our kids had so much fun playing together...at least as long as they were each getting their way!
They have some pretty cool built in cabinets in the living room that Reagan would go and hide in.
Not to be out-done the boys all got into one together. Such a handsome group!

Lucy didn't really want to get in the cupboards, but she didn't seem to mind playing a game instead.
Then the kids wanted to play outside...okay all of them but Jonathan. He decided he wanted to stay inside and pout about not getting his way. My kids seem to be pretty good at sticking out that bottom lip.
In the end our bark turned out amazing! We put a little bit too much candy and it didn't all stick to the melted chocolate underneath. However, I am a firm believer that you can never go wrong with a bunch of butterfingers crumbs:)
The upside of being the only kid in the house is that you get to sample some bark before the rest of them.
Too bad my kids hate being "sticky" so he was extremely unhappy about this end result. He is such a nerd. Love him to pieces!
Hopefully we can keep coming up with some new recipes to try and stuff to do so we have a good excuse to get us all together. Wait, who am I kidding? We don't need an "excuse" we can do whatever we want! Thanks for the good food and fun times ladies and children.
The funniest part of this whole bark making adventure is the fact that Heidi and I attempted to deliver some to the women we visit teach. One of them was new to us and we had never been to her house before. We totally found out later that we had the wrong address and left it on a complete strangers doorstep! Oh well, hopefully they weren't too scared by it and enjoyed the candy:)
