Spuds 'n' Suds

In October Adrian's Scout troop held their annual fundraiser. They host a dinner of baked potatoes, chili, and root beer floats (hence, spuds and suds) that people pay a few dollars for and then the scouts/scouts families donate items for an auction. This was the first year that Adrian is officially a Boy Scout during the event and he had so much fun with it!
I got to help set up the morning of, spend my day getting the donations ready, and then get back up to the church so Adrian could help set up chairs in time for dinner. It was a long day...I was not sad when it was over!
Some of our contributions were some amazing pinterest inspired desserts.
Death by Candy Pie
Oreo cookie crust, snickers bits, brownie bits, reese's pb cup bits, mini marshmallows, chocolate pudding, cool whip, m&m's...you get the idea. I'm sure it tasted amazing. The 14 year old boy who went home with it probably thought he had died and gone to candy heaven.

Candy Corn marshmallow pops...didn't quite turn out as intended, but the kids who ended up eating them were not complaining.

Due to my crazy day I had to resort to not so awesome means of distraction with my little ones. They were running all day and Reagan just couldn't make it. She passed out and slept on stage for almost 2 hours. Jonathan spent a chunk of time watching over her...with the help of netflix on my phone. Curse you technology for making it so easy to plug my kids in!!! (Shaking fist in the air.) I made up for it, but I did feel guilty for half a second about letting him watch so many shows that day. It was for a good cause though so I totally got over it;)

I'm so excited about the upcoming events Adrian will get to participate in with his Boy Scout troop!

Yeah, you SHOULD totally get over it. It WAS all for a good cause. You shouldn't feel bad about that. I love the treats, too--so fun & cute! That's a cute idea, spuds -n- suds.

I do not miss the busy and hectic life of my boys when they did scouts fundraisers! You have a fun road ahead! It was fun to see the creativity of derby races and auctions like yours. I loved, loved, loved the Halloween bark you sent! I was running off to work when we got your package, so I grabbed some to take with me. I'll need to find the recipe on Pinterest. We never got a picture of Brielle's Pumpkin Head gift, sorry, but it is ready to use next year too. You are awesome!
