One of the things I can remember the most about Christmas growing up is the music. My mom always had music playing and sang in choirs or played for choirs. I love the way that music can so sweetly and simply tell the story of our Saviour's birth. I have inherited a love of music from my mom and I will be grateful for it forever.
One of the classic Christmas albums for us to listen to was "The Forgotten Carols" by Michael McClean. I love the songs and I've imagined what it would be like to watch the musical performed my whole life. Well, when I heard that the show was making a stop in Portland for one night (and one night only!) I knew that I had to go. We decided to bring the older boys along and introduce them to the music live. Of course we had to bring my mom as well! What would "The Forgotten Carols" be without her?!

The show was amazing and the perfect way to start off the Christmas season! I love Michael McClean's music and his performance does not disappoint. I think that the best part of the whole thing is that he ends the show by singing "Silent Night" with the audience. The Spirit was so strong in that auditorium. I can't wait to see it again someday!

We lucked out and the show was the same night as the tree lighting in Pioneer Square so we got to see the tree as well. I am so excited for everything we have planned this year for Christmas!!!
