Birthdays, School, and Babies

I have been entirely too lazy with my blogging lately. No excuses, just laziness. Monday, Sept 8 was Luke's 7th birthday. Happy Birthday Luke! We celebrated on Saturday with some family and friends. It was a lot of fun, but our little house was filled to capacity:) I look forward to the day when we get to move to a house with more room so our huge families can get together without stepping all over each other! Anyways, Luke was so excited to have his birthday this year. He wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate ice cream. Ahh, a boy after my own heart. I surprised him by putting chocolate chips in the cupcakes too! Andrew said he felt all chocolated out but I thought it was great. At the last minute I realized I forgot to get birthday candles so I had to get creative, Luke loved the pirate candles I found, even though there were only 6...lol.
Luke, you are one of the sweetest boys in the whole world. I still remember when I first met you when you were barely 4 years old. I always looked forward to the weekends when you were going to be around and I loved how much you always begged me to marry your dad. I am so glad that I did and I am glad that I have gotten to watch you grow so much over the last 3 years. You are in first grade this year and so excited to be a big boy who goes to school all day. And you get 3 recesses, lucky! I laughed to myself when you explained how this was the best part and that the afternoon recess is just for first graders. I hope you enjoyed your birthday and that you have an awesome 7th year of life!
As all of you know last week was the first of the school year. We were a little anxious for Adrian this year because he was not looking forward to third grade. I think he was concerned that he would need to know all the third grade stuff on the first day. He asked me one time this past summer to tell his teacher that in math he doesn't know "the exes, except for the zeros. Can you tell her that so she doesn't make me learn the others?" I figured out he meant multiplication and I tried to assure him that everything was going to be just fine. He is most excited this year about the fact that he gets to ride the bus. It is mainly a matter of convenience for me and my mom on the days he goes there, but he is sure it is because he is a big third grader now and he takes this responsibility very seriously. It has been such a fun week and a half of third grade so far. Hopefully the whole year goes smoothly...although on Monday he did come home with a chunk of hair missing right in the front. He finally said he did it to make his friend laugh. What will this kid think of next? Anyways we had to buzz his hair so short to make it even, he looks like a recovering chemo patient :( and right before school pictures too. What a funny kid.

As a pregnancy update I am so ready for this to happen! I know I should just enjoy this time of preparation and all that, but I am so exhausted all the time and I am having a hard time breathing now that everything is shoved up in my lungs! I swear this kid is big enough to be done growing, and I know he had to get bigger! I had Andrew take a picture of me a few weeks ago at 30 weeks and I intended to post it then, but as usual I forgot. So it is a little late here and I am bigger now than this picture shows. I had my 32 week appt last week and I am still measuring about 1 cm larger than average, but apparently my weight gain has leveled out. I have gained 25 pounds so far. Andrew was kind enough to point out that he and I weigh the same now...what a gem. Baby Jonathan, we are ready for you. Maybe not really, but there is no more room for you in my stomach so anytime you want to come out and say hello would be fine with me! I will miss feeling you moving around constantly and the overwhelming feeling of being a part of a miracle, but I can't wait to see your little face and try to figure out who you look like. I want to hold your tiny fingers and witness one of God's littlest miracles come to life.

You are so cute! I am probably as much or more anxious to hold this little one in my arms - I have waited a long time for a grand child - you girls are so slow at doing what I want:) You will do fine - and before you know it you will have him constantly at your side:)

Happy birthday Luke! (late)

You look so cute! And, that was especially sweet of Andrew to point out that you are the same weight...I love it when things like that come out of their mouths! :)
