I realized a couple months ago that there are some things you learn about because the people you love are interested in them and not because you really care; however, sometimes you find yourself caring...why is that? I don't know if I will ever know the answer to that question, but one thing I do know is that my home is filled with Star Wars obsessed boys--my husband included! I now have a file in my brain of useless Star Wars info that I don't know what to do with. When I came to this realization was when Adrian and Luke were arguing over what color light saber Luke Skywalker has and I had to resolve it. I knew that he had a blue one in Episodes IV and V (he used his fathers) and then when his hand got cut off he made a new one and in Episode VI he has a green one. Why did I know this? Why do I know any of the stuff I do about Star Wars? Because those I love care about it...I decided it was time to do something about all this Star Wars stuff. I found some Star Wars fabric online and had to order it. It was time to do something with Adrian's bedroom. So, for the last couple weeks in my "spare" time I have been sewing up a storm. I made a pillow case, some throw pillows, a window valance, and a photo board out of the Star Wars fabric. I needed a comforter for the bed, but I didn't want to fork over a chunk of change, so I headed to IKEA and bought 2 flat sheets for $2.99 apiece and sewed them together to make a duvet cover. It didn't turn out exactly how I imagined it, but still I am very impressed with myself. Today was Andrew's day off so I got him to help me paint the room (can you believe he had never painted before?!) and we hung curtains and I got Andrew's input for some quotes to put on the walls. I have to say I am quite impressed with the final product.
The Picture board I made out of a broken cork board with some fabric, ribbon and a staple gun. (Hello design on a dime!)
The window valance and I tried to make this quote look like the beginning of the movies, kind of turned out?
And here is one happy kiddo getting ready for bed!
This may not mean anything to any of you, but the boys have decided that the "sandy" brown color on the walls represents Tattooine (spelling?)--the home planet of young Anakin Skywalker...whatever! I just wanted something neutral.
I still have plans to put some shelves up higher on the walls to put on display all of the Star Wars paraphernalia Andrew has in our closet to protect it from getting "broken" or losing value. I think it is pointless to have all that stuff if no one is ever going to see it, so I guess I am feeding into a serious addiction. What a productive day--go us!!!

I can't believe you have given into the Star Wars addiction, and are even feeding into it!! But I do have to admit that it is pretty dang hilarious. And, hello, crafty little homemaker - way to go on the room!
It turned out adorable - but of course you knew it would! Lucky boys to have a fun room to play in and I like the idea about the shelves - I am with you why have it it you are just going to hide it away in a closet....
What a fun idea for a room. I bet it was a ton of fun putting it together.
My boys are star wars fans too. Andrew dances to the theme music. Have you ever seem Sheila's daughter's room? All the same sayings only in pink all over her walls. It's awesome!
