Family Reunion

August 5-8, 2010
We had our annual Weitzel family reunion this summer at my family's house in Lincoln City, OR. It was so much fun! Even though Reagan was barely a week old she did great and the weekend was relaxing. It helps when you are surrounded by family who want nothing more than to help out every second:) We went down on Thursday evening and stayed until Sunday afternoon. The weekend was filled with time at Devil's lake, Regatta Park, on the sand, at the house, and of course a quick stop at the outlet stores.
On Saturday morning my family surprised me with a little baby shower at the Wildflower Grill in Lincoln City. It was so cute--all my sisters were there (except Paige and Chloe), Anita (Seth's girlfriend), my mom, and my Grandma were there. Overall I think everyone had a great time and we can't wait to see what gets planned for next year's reunion.
Luke on the tire swing (Regatta Park)

Jonathan on the slide (Regatta Park)

Jonathan playing the chimes (Regatta Park)

Jonathan decided that he didn't like the feeling of the sand on his feet so he preferred sitting inside this raft (eating) over playing in the sand and water (Regatta Park/Devils Lake)

Adrian and Luke loved to explore "new" trails to the beach

There is a bench in front of our house and this is the view (Adrian and Luke love going out there)

Aww, the brothers showing some love!

Jonathan still wasn't sure about the sand at this point--everyone was digging in and he is cautiously testing it with his toes. (I couldn't understand his issue with the sand because last summer he loved playing in sand...)

Love this face!

Jonathan and my sister "Tay-yur"

Adrian wanted to be buried in the sand. As you can see they didn't quite dig a deep enough hole before they started! Luke and my sister Autumn had a blast covering him with sand though:)

Regatta Park has a nice little enclosed area of Devils Lake for the kids to swim/play in. My brother Chad was kind enough to take Jonathan out in one of the rafts.

Luke and Adrian showing off on their way out to the dock to take a turn riding the innertubes behind the boat.

Luke kept saying this was his first time on a boat, but I believe my mom has evidence to the contrary in the form of a picture taken the summer of 2006 on a boat at this same lake. He had a blast--this kid is our little dare devil.

My dad spent a lot of time piloting the boat around the lake, the kids all took turns and tried to stay dry/keep warm in between!

Jonathan wanted a turn being pulled by the boat so Andrew and Luke took him out with them. Grandpa went really slow, but there was still a little bit of splashing which Jonathan was NOT a fan of. Poor little guy was so upset over getting his face splashed.
There are several more pictures of people playing on the beach, at the park, in the water and everything else, but I just don't feel like waiting for them to upload. And yes, I am very aware that Reagan is not featured in a single one of those pictures...classic "not the first baby" problem of forgetting to take pictures of the ever sleeping newborn. Sorry Reagan, but you were there and you had a fantastic time (even if there isn't any proof of it!)

That looks like a SUPER FUN family reunion!! I love the picture of your 3 boys--that is sweet. I agree with you--going on a family reunion like that with a week old baby might SOUND crazy, but it couldn't be better!! So many people anxious to help, plus full-time entertainment for your other kids. It's perfect. What a great reunion!!
