In lieu of a nap:

The usual routine around these parts is that our alarm clock comes in the form of 2 happy go-lucky toddlers every morning at around 5:30am.  I find that no matter what I try this is the case.  Keeping them up later just means that they are total brats the next day.  I do find that they are super clingy and tired around 8:30 or 9:00 which is just too early for a nap so I try to find other ways to distract them.  One morning last week I thought it would be fun to watch some fun cartoon music videos on Andrew's Ipod so I plugged it in and set them up.  These kids are hilarious!

They insisted that they have a pillow and Reagan demanded a blanket.  Guess they are moving right in to my room....

Stuff like this makes me get all old and nostalgic by thinking things like "we never had ipods when I was a kid." I often wonder what it will be like for our kids who have no idea what it means to actually have to cue up a video or song with painstaking effort!  I can't wait to see how things are in 20 years with how much is different to me now.

Wow. 5:30 is so early. I get up slightly before that to get Preston going for seminary. In 20 years your kids will reminisce about the good old days when they had iPods instead of whatever newfangled thing they will have in 20 years! ha
