Project Bucket List: "Backyard" Chalkboard

When we did the closet transformation at the beginning of the year I had to find a new home for all the crafty stuff I had stashed in there.  Most of it ended up in an armoire I found at Ikea.  The rest is still in a temporary holding pattern--I know what I am going to eventually do, but for now... Anyways, on a super hot and sunny day in August we decided it was time to make the chalkboard.

(P.S. notice the black book cases behind us? They used to be in the living room and now they hold the dishes in the kitchen! All part of a much bigger kitchen project plan that has been on hold due to a lack of motivation to paint on my part.  I just love looking at the dishes all pretty on those shelves!)
In between coats of chalkboard paint I took care of the trim and the kids played the Wii.  Well, Reagan slept sitting up, Jonathan thought he was playing, and Adrian really played the Wii.

Reagan woke up from her nap just in time to test it out!  I love having this fun chalkboard and pop of color on the side of the cabinet:)

Even visitors to our home like to add a little something:

That is so seriously cute! I am very impressed. (And your bucket list is amazing--mine has like 4 things on it.)
